2016-2023 Fruits

Starting in 2016, USPS started replacing its low-denomination sheet and coil stamps.

 

Sheet stamps

Counterfeits have been reported of the 1¢ Apples (Scott 5037-CF1), 2¢ Meyer Lemons (5256-CF1) and 3¢ Strawberries (Scott 5201-CF1) coil stamp designs, but in a pane of 20 or sheet format. USPS has not issued these denominations in sheet format.

4¢ Blueberries pane of 20 (Scott 5652), plate number B111111 [2022]

Counterfeits with plate number B111111 have been reported.

5¢ Grapes pane of 20 (Scott 5177), plate number P111111 [2017]

Counterfeits with plate number P111111 have been reported.

10¢ Pears pane of 20 (Scott 5178), plate number B111111 [2017]

Counterfeits with plate number B111111 have been reported.

 

Coil stamps

 

1¢ Apples coil (Scott 5037), from coil of 10,000, plate numbers P111111 [2016] and P222222 [2023]

Coil of 3000 reissued in 2019, identical except for back numbers, also with plate number P111111

Coils with plate number P222222 were reported in Linn's Stamp News issue of December 12, 2022. The new number resulted from a change in the paper used to print the coils of 10,000 stamps.

  

2¢ Meyer Lemon coil (Scott 5256), from coil of 10,000, plate numbers B11111 [2018] and B22222 [2023]

Coil of 3000 reissued in 2019, identical except for back numbers

Plate number B22222 was reported in June 2023. The new number resulted from a change in the paper used to print the coils.

  

3¢ Strawberries coil (Scott 5201), from coil of 10,000, plate numbers P1111 [2017] and P2222 [2023]

Coil of 3000 reissued in 2019, identical except for back numbers

Plate number P2222 was reported in June 2023. The new number resulted from a change in the paper used to print the coils.

4¢ Blueberries coil (Scott 5653), from coil of 3000 or 10,000, plate number B111111 [2022]

 

  

5¢ Grapes coil (Scott 5038), from coil of 10,000, plate numbers P111111 [2016], P222222 [2023]

Plate number P222222 was reported in June 2023. The new number resulted from a change in the paper used to print the coils.

     

10¢ Pears coil (Scott 5039), from coils of 3,000 and 10,000, plate numbers S111111 [2016], B111111 [2019], and B222222 [2023]

Coil of 3000 reissued in 2019, identical except for back numbers. While the initial plate S111111 was printed by Sennett, the prefix "B" indicates that the additional printings were by BCA.

Plate number B222222 was reported in June 2023. The new number resulted from a change in the paper used to print the coils.

 

In addition, 33¢ sheet stamps and 33¢ coil stamps featuring four varieties of applies were issued in 2013 to meet the postcard rate. See 2013 issues for additional details.

 

The 1¢, 2¢, 3¢, 5¢ and 10¢ Fruit sheet and coil stamps were superseded by low denomination Flower designs in 2024.
